A Flashbang is a type of grenade that is used by enemies in some missions of GoldenEye 007 for Wii and GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.

Overview[]

Flashbangs are only used as specific, scripted points in the campaign where enemies breach the door of a room James is inside; there is always dialog suggesting they are about to use one of these grenades before they actually do. Flashbangs have a set radius of effect in which they will "blind" Bond for roughly five seconds, whiting out the screen completely; unlike other games, it does not appear to matter what direction Bond is facing in when the flashbang explodes.

Appearances[]

Outpost[]

A flashbang is used by two guards with SEGS 550s who open a locked door after the indoor sniping section; this is invariably fatal if caught. Luckily, the player can simply enter the room the two guards are in since they will not open fire until the flashbang goes off.

Memorial[]

A large group of guards will breach the door into the locked-down room once Bond accesses the terminal and sees Natalya being captured. In this case the easiest way to avoid the flashbang is to back up into the small side-room directly opposite the door.

Trivia[]

  • The model is an M83, which is actually a smoke grenade.
