For England James

Book cover

For England, James: Notes on the Visual Impact of GoldenEye is a book written by Argentinean writer Nicolás Suszczyk, editor of the website The GoldenEye Dossier, a site created in 2011 to homage on the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye. Released in paperback and digital on 24 December 2020, this is the second book by Suszczyk covering the success of Pierce Brosnan's 007 debut after The World of GoldenEye.

In contrast to his first work, For England, James makes a scene-by-scene analysis of the film from the beginning to the end, without focusing on the video game adaptations. Throughout the publication, pencil art made by the author is featured to illustrate some of the ideas explained in the very detailed analysis, which primarily focus in the work of director Martin Campbell, editor Terry Rawlings, cinematographer Phil Méheux and composer Eric Serra. Each paragraph takes into many details that frequently went missing for people that didn't watch the movie closely, such as the facial expressions of the actors, the "complicity" between the spectator and Bond in some scenes and the visual importance of the Pilatus plane in the pre-credits sequence for this production.

In February 2021, For England, James was published in Spanish language under the title Por Inglaterra, James: El Impacto Visual de GoldenEye.
