The Gambit CP-208 (Arctic Warfare L118A1) is a sniper rifle created in 1982 by the British company Accuracy International.

Gambit CP-208

The Accuracy International AWM. AKA: The Gambit CP-208.

Overview:

The Gambit CP-208 is the final sniper rifle unlock in Goldeneye Wii, being unlocked at level 55. It is the most powerful sniper rifle, however it is typically passed over by more experienced players in favor of the faster firing Walther WA2000. The gambit accepts the standard sniper rifle Attachments, (Laser Sight, Silencer, and Thermal Scope.) The Gambit is quick to reload (tied with the Pavlov ASR) however it is by far the slowest firing of the sniper rifles, being the only one that is not semi-automatic. This is offset by its apparently high damage and accuracy statistics, however these are irrelevant, as all but two sniper rifles have (near) maximum accuracy, and can typically be expected to kill in one hit. This makes the Gambit into an interesting toy, but a superfluous tool.

Singleplayer:

The Gambit is favored by enemy snipers, seeing more use than any other rifle, with the exception of the omnipresent Walther WA2000. While it is situationally useful, it should usually be ignored, unless no other ranged option is available. Like most sniper rifles, ammunition is scarce, so if the Gambit is used, it should either be dumped quickly, or used sparingly.

Multiplayer:

The Gambit sees little use in the Online Multiplayer mode, due to its high tier unlock, and its very slow firing rate. It is also unavailable in the Split-Screen mode, as even the game designers knew the Walther WA2000 was more useful. However this is not to say the Gambit is all bad, it is the most responsive of the sniper rifles, being even more maneuverable than a "Normal" weapon while aiming down the sights. On the rare occasions someone might want to use the Gambit, it is recommended that it be Multi-Tasked with a solid backup (Anova DP3, Strata SV400, etc.) It should be noted, however, only one firearm can hold an acessory, so you must be careful when choosing which.
