Jack Wade is an agent of the CIA who is willing to help the MI6. He is never met in person in GoldenEye 007, but is mentioned in various briefings and can be contacted through radio in Caverns for him to notify the cavalry.
Overview[]
The identity of Jack Wade is absolutely unknown, as he had never appeared in any kind of way in GoldenEye apart from being mentioned in briefings and radio contact. The two most notable mentions of Jack Wade in GoldenEye are:
1. In Jungle, where he is noted in the briefing that he had trained Natalya basic training, and provided her with Cougar Magnum weapon (weapon providing not mentioned). Since he is from CIA, it is possible to assume that, he is also the one who had provided the aircraft that crashes in there.
2. In Caverns (as stated before), where he is mentioned in briefings and can be contacted through radio, through which he can provide the cavalry support. However, once the cavalry is contacted and Bond is on Cradle, it is never seen in GoldenEye 007. Once contacted, he will say: "Got your bearings Jimbo! Me and my boys are on our way.", and the objective D will be completed.
Trivia[]
He is played by actor Joe Don Baker in the 1995 film GoldenEye, acting as Bond's contact in St Petersburg and providing Bond useful information about Janus. Baker returned for the role of Wade in the 1997 film Tomorrow Never Dies. Previously, he played arms dealer Brad Withaker in The Living Daylights, Timothy Dalton's debut as 007 in 1987.
Wade was initially included in the game but after Rare realised that they did not have the licensing to use the likeness of Baker, Wade was cut from physically appearing in the game.
