Naval Officer

Naval Officers are French Military officers, found only on the Frigate level. They are the hostages Bond has to rescue from the Janus Mercenaries.

The French military was demonstrating the Pirate stealth helicopter aboard a La Fayette frigate when Janus Mercenaries took them hostage. MI6 has been asked to help with the hostage situation and place a tracking bug on the Pirate.

Weapons Used[]

The Naval Officers, despite their military rank, do not carry any weapons, nor do they attack. They are the hostages to the Janus Mercenaries, and therefore, has been forcefully disarmed by them.

Approaching the Hostages[]

Naval Officers, in GoldenEye 007, would usually be held at gun-point at point blank range. Bond has to carefully kill the Janus Mercenary that holds them at gun-point, so that they can be free. If Bond approaches the hostage either too close or doesn't act at normal distance, the Janus Mercenary that holds them hostage will kill them, and a message saying "Hostage Executed" will be shown. Upon rescuing them, however, the message will be "Hostage released." However, if Bond kills one of them (independent of being held against their will or not), the execution message will show as well.

Multiplayer[]

They are the 19th character on the roster.
His head is based off "Duncan".
He blends in very well with the green walls of the Library, Stack, and Archives levels. It is almost an exact match.
He becomes permanently available after the Antenna Cradle stage has been beaten.

Glitches[]

(Cheated Only Glitch, Frigate Mission) - Needed cheats: Infinite ammo, Enemy Rocket Launchers (RPGs.) Switch to the item called "Bug", then, throw them in one place and on top of each other, until it can't be done any more. Then, approach the enemies (This same glitch can be done in Dam.) The enemies will not be able to attack Bond and will look quite odd when they are trying to do so. At this point, approach the hostage that is being held by Janus Mercenary. The hostage will still be executed by them, even if they do not even shoot.
