The US AR33 Assault Rifle is a powerful rifle found in GoldenEye 007's later missions. It is equal in power as the Phantom, but much more accurate, faster fire rate, and with a longer zoom, than the KF7 Soviet, making it useful for picking off targets at a distance. Shots from this rifle will also penetrate though objects and enemies. Like the KF7 Soviet, it has a three round burst. Though one of the strongest automatic guns in the game, the RC-P90 outperforms it.

Notes[]
- During development, the AR33 was called the Commando M16A/2, after its real-world counterpart. The name was presumably changed for legal reasons.
- The name of the AR33 is a pun of AR-15, the platform of the rifle.
- This rifle was much more common during the development of the game. This can be seen in the back box art screenshots, which actually are the beta version.
- It is the strongest assault rifle in the game.
- The AR33 is featured in Perfect Dark as the AR53—though with a reduced zoom and lacks the ability to penetrate objects and enemies.
- The M16A2 (the weapon the AR33 is based on) was the primary infantry military rifle for the United States Army in the 1980s and by the release of GoldenEye 007 in 1997, was still in active service (though the M16A4 variant replaced it the same year). However, the model performance in-game is inaccurate; although the real-life M16A2 has three round bursts, it only has semi-auto fire, while the AR33 has fully automatic fire. For this reason, it is likely supposed to be the M16A3 or A4 version of the service rifle. The M16 rifle as a whole was used by the U.S. military and adopted into other countries from the early 1960s until the M4 Carbine largely replaced it in 2005.
